The Story
Marie Michielssen enjoys working with natural, tactile materials like plaster and papier-mâché. She had long wanted to work with wood, a warm yet challenging material. The result is an impressive table with a solid oak top. As with many of her Serax designs, she started with one of her sculptures. The table features a central leg formed by two curved elements covered in wood veneer, symbolizing the balance between masculine symmetry and feminine curves. To create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, she chose a large 150 cm round top.
